Knyrovich’s father: Utilities department owes $1.5 million to Alyaksandr

Бацька Кныровіча: ЖКГ застаецца вінная Аляксандру $1,5 млн

Well-known Belarusian businessman Alyaksandr Knyrovich and five employees of his company SarmatTermoEngeneering were detained for tax evasion on January 25. According to KGB, they have not paid at least 2.8 million roubles of taxes.

The businessman’s father has shared his opinion about the sum with Euroradio: “The housing and utilities department owes $1.5 million for supplied goods to Alyaksandr. This is the sum of ‘the unpaid taxes’,” Stanislau Knyrovich said.

The group of companies Sarmat (Alyaksandr Knyrovich is a co-founder there) is developing power-efficient technologies in building and produces construction materials. KGB has reported ‘negotiated contracts’ signed by Sarmat with some state structures of the housing and utilities department. A few officials and the broker who represented Svislach housing and utilities at the commodity exchange have also been detained.
