Hungarian supermarkets to be forbidden to work on Sundays

The Hungarian Parliament has supported the idea of imposing a ban on supermarkets’ work on Sundays despite retailers’ protests.

Citizens will be able to spend time with their families instead of going shopping on Sundays, Hungarian PM Victor Orban believes. Every fifth Hungarian goes shopping on Sundays, BBC reports.

The authorities’ decision has already resulted in citizens’ protests. The restriction will leave 20 thousand people unemployed, multistores’ representatives say.
