In Homel, man leaves WWII bomb at police station's doors

The man left his dangerous find next to the entrance to the police station No 4, located in a multi-storey residential block in Aharenka street. No wonder the locals made a fuss about it, causing the authorities to evacuate the residents and block the traffic.

The man told police officers that he had found the bomb accidentally near a village. He removed an anti-tank mine from sand, wrapped up in a rag and put it into a box in order to pass it on to law-enforcers. He said he did not call the police right away because of the late hours.

He drove with the bomb in his car's trunk 15 kilometers, also passing through inhabitted settlements. The man claimed he did not think about possible circumstances.

When this mine explodes, it covers the area of 600 meters. Its caliber is 82 centimeters, reports Homelskaya Prauda.
