Forest fires area doubles in one day in Transbaikal (video)
The city of Chita is facing the most danger at the moment.
The area of forest fires in Russian Transbaikal has doubled in one day. 54 thousand hectares were reported to be on fire on Wednesday. The area increased to 104 thousand hectares on Thursday, RBK reports. In general, 92 forest fires have been registered and only 26 of them have been contained on the territory of 7.7 thousand hectares.
Most fires have been noticed in Chita District – 25. A state fop emergency was announced in Transbaikal on March 25.
