Ex-director of Barysaudreu may get out of jail in June

On April 18, the Supreme Court considered an appeal against the sentence of the former Director General of  Barysaudreu Uladzimir Maltsau. In late 2014 he was sentenced to 3 years of colony without confiscation of property, but he had to pay the state a  compensation in the amount of about 2 billion rubles. The Court found him guilty of abuse of power and official position, but Maltsau did not admit his guilt.

According to the court of appeal, the sentence was reduced to 2.5 years, and compensation for losses was canceled. In addition, the security colony replaced by the regular prison. Maltsau was also amnestied, which reduced the sentence by a year. Also this year another amnesty is expected on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Victory Day and thus Maltsau can get out of jail in June with considering his time in prison on Valadarsky Street.

At the end of January, during a press conference for Belarusian mass media, Alyaksandr Lukashenka promised to further examine the Maltsau's case.
