Congress for independence held in Minsk

The All-Belarusian Congress for Independence was held in the hotel Victoria in Minsk on December 21. The main task of the Congress is to adopt a manifest and collect one million signatures in its support in Belarus, Radio Liberty refers to Belarusian Language Society chairperson Aleh Trusau.

The Congress is expected to gather regularly – every three months. The Chernobyl issue and the presence of foreign air bases on the Belarusian territory are going to be discussed at the next sessions.

The Congress commission will edit the manifest and present it in 5 days. Then it will be published.

A council consisting of 17 members was elected at the Congress. Alena Anisim, Uladzimir Arlou, Radzim Haretski, Uladzimir Kolas, Alyaksei Marachkin, Mihail Pastuhou, Aleh Trusau and others are among them.

Then the participants of the congers signed the Manifest for Independence.
