Opera star Dmitri Khvorostovsky diagnosed with brain cancer

Brain cancer has been diagnosed in opera singer Dmitri Hvorostovsky and he has cancelled all his summer concerts, RBK reports.

Hvorostovsky will start his treatment course this week. The singer is optimistic.

The singer was supposed to perform at the Vienna State Opera last week. However, he did not do it ‘due to sudden illness’, the theatre announced.

Russian opera singer Dmitri Hvorostovsky cooperates with New York, Boston, Chicago, San Francisco and Rotterdam symphonic orchestras regularly. He is the people’s artist of Russia and got the Opera News Award in 2012.
