Belavia CEO: Low cost airlines do not work in Minsk

"As far as I know, no European low cost companies have applied for it. I think taht it is happening because low cost companies need at least one daily flight from Minsk and it would be better to have  more than one flight a day,” Belavia CEO Anatol Husarau said.

There are no such flights in Minsk now, he added. Spanish airline Vueling works in Belarus in summer, he noted. It is a budget airline although the scheme of its work does not really correspond to that of low cost airlines.

The competition on the Belarusian aviation market is pretty high, Husarau noted. Russian Aeroflot, Turkish Airlines, Etihad, Lufthansa and Austrian Airlines work here, BelaPAN reports.
