Беларус атрымаў прэмію "Зроблена ў Расіі" за раман

Belarus-born writer Sasha Flipenka has received the literary award of the magazine Snob for his novel Torture, Radio Liberty reports. He is the first foreigner to have received the award Made In Russia, Filipenka noted in his speech.

"I am not surprised despite the fact that the Book was written by a Belarusian in France. Unfortunately, everything written in the book was made in Russia,” the writer said.

He decided the book to murdered journalist Pavel Sheremet. Sheremet paid attention to an extract from his first novel Former Son published in Snob and advised that the publisher printed Filipenka’s novella as soon as possible.

Torture is Filipenka’s third novel. The Belarusian gained popularity after moving to Russia. He has already printed two novels in Russian there – Former Son and Cherished Dreams. The writer became a laureate of the Russian Prize in 2014.
