Belarus to give $2.3 bn to service state debt in 2017

Belarus is expected to pay $2.5 billion from the public budget to service both the external and domestic debt. In order to cover part of this amount, Belarus plans to borrow $1.9 billion more, Belarus' Deputy Finance Minister Yury Selivestau told journlaists in the parliament during the review of the 2017 budget draft at the meeting of the Budget and Finance Committee.

Nearly 700 million will be borrowed in three instalments from the Eurasian Development Bank. Eurobonds will help raise $800 million. Belarus will also issue domestic bonds worth of $300 million. The expenditures on servicing the state debt in 2017 will be 20 percent higher than in 2016.
