Belarus to execute 'legal highs' dealers?

The head of the Belarusian State Radio and Television Broadcasting Company and head of the civil council in the Ministry of Internal Affairs Henadz Davydzka has suggested radical measures to fight 'legal highs' dealers in Belarus. He announced it on Belarus-1:

"I think that radical measures up to the death penalty should be used against those who distribute this poison. This is the only way to fight them. Persuasion and others things do not work. The strictest measures should be used against those who make money on other people’s sorrow."

The maximum term of imprisonment for drug dealers is 15 years now. Dealers acting alone usually spend only two years in prison. By the way, the public and the Ministry of Internal Affairs also want to exacerbate the punishment.

The police have revealed over 5 thousand drug crimes in Belarus this year. Over a thousand people were taken to hospital due to overdosing, 25 of them died.
