Art Syadziba activist released

Art Syadziba activist Stanislau Babaytsau has been released. The court sent the administrative report filed on him for petty hooliganism back for revision. It was reported by BelaPAN with reference to the coordinator of Art Syadziba Mikita Brouka.

According to Brouka, at the trial it was revealed that the protocol for Babaytsau was drafted by the police incorrectly. They wrote that the arrested man was drunk, even though they did not take him to examination. Therefore, the court sent the protocol for revision, and the activist was released.

Brouka said that apart from Babaytsau and his friend, police also detained about eight people who of whom Art Syadziba knows nothing about. All the young people were sentenced to fines, according to Brouka.

As reported by Euroradio, on the night of 23 to 24 November, Babaytsau and his friend were detained by the police at the center of Minsk. They decided to check young people's documents, and Babytsou and his friends also asked the police officers for IDs. Then the police detained the young men and took them to the police station, where reports for disorderly conduct were drawn. Babaytsau refused to sign the document, and he was detained pending trial. His friend signed the protocol and was let go.
