Ammunition and non-lethal weapons seized daily at Ukraine border

During a meeting with US Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense Michael Carpenter, Aliaksandr Lukashenka said weapons are seized every day on the border between Belarus and Ukraine (see. Video). The State Border Committee of Belarus confirmed such cases. But it is mostly parts of hunting weapon, cartridges that are brought from Ukraine, told Euroradio the head of the Border Committee press service Aliaksandr Tishchanka.


Tishchanka: "Almost every day we detain people who are trying to bring in items that are classified as non-lethal weapons - traumatic guns and ammunition. People usually have knuckle dusters, bats, hunting ammunition on them".

No heavy weapons such as machine gun have been found by the border guards, however.
