Bealrus imported $1-billion worth of vehicles this year

Belarus imported about 130,000 vehicles from January to September 2008, a 24-percent increase on the same period of 2007. Vehicle imports totaled nearly $1 billion, said the State Customs Committee.

Individuals brought 73,500 vehicles worth $430 million. This is a decline of 32 percent on the previous year. Imports by individual entrepreneurs and companies rose by 90 percent to 56,000 vehicles.
