Lidziya Yarmoshyna: I cannot lie, but I could conceal the truth

The head of the Central Election Commission Lidziya Yarmoshyna gave an interview to ERB and said that she could not lie. She has commented on posters and graffiti “Yarmoshyna lies” that have appeared in Minsk recently. The head of the CEC confessed that she had not seen the inscriptions.

Lidziya Yarmoshyna: "I cannot lie. There are such “awfully” honest people.  I could conceal the truth in some cases but I simply cannot tell lies”.

Yarmoshyna says that “it is impossible to hide the truth about falsification of results of elections” and that she does not know how to do it”. The head of the CEC thinks that the graffiti is a PR action directed “against the state policy and the election campaign” rather than against her. On the other hand, Lidziya Yarmoshyna considers it a proof of her popularity:

"Any mention of a name, even if it is negative, testifies to the person’s popularity”.
