Official Minsk is against opposition’s participation in Euronest

Belarus will insist on participation of only its official delegation in the parliamentary assembly of “Eastern Partnership” – the Euronest. The head of the standing commission on international affairs and connections of the House of Representatives Syarhei Maskevich has informed BelTA about it.

"We are interested in equal participation in the Euronets. We will insist on including only official representatives of the National Assembly in the Belarusian delegation and their number should be equal to the number of members of other Eastern European delegations”, - said the deputy. He stressed that Belarusian parliamentarians were ready for active work in the Euronest but only as official members instead of observers.

Let us remind you that representatives of the European parliament suggested including 5 opposition and 5 official Belarusian observers in the Euronets. If the official Minsk refuses to accept such terms, the Belarusian delegation will probably consist of opposition members only.
